Champaign County Bikes
CCB is striving to make Champaign County the Most Bicycle-Friendly County in the Midwest.
Bike Month Planning team
May is the National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. The Bike Month Planning Team is comprised of the Champaign County Bikes (CCB), Champaign Urbana Regional Planning Commision (CCRPC), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, City of Urbana, City of Champaign, Village of Savoy, MTD, The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign, CU Safe Routes to School Project, CU Public Health District, Urbana Park District, and Champaign Park District.
Several events like Bike to Work Day, Bike to School Day, Bike Rodeos, Bike to Market, Bike to Worship, and many more are organized during the Bike Month.
Prairie Cycle Club
This is a longtime Champaign County area recreational bicycle club. They lead regular bikes rides for all levels, all season long and organize the annual C-U Across the Prairie supported bike ride.
The Illini 4000
Illini 4000 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience through The Portraits Project, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through annual cross-country bike rides.
C-U Safe Routes To School Project
Safe Routes to School organizes local Walk / Bike to School Days, bike rodeos, and has helped improve cycling infrastructure and facilities via grant funding.
Ride Illinois
This organization is very active in educating planners and policymakers, cyclists and the general public about important issues for bicycling and creating bicyclist-friendly communities and facilities.
Wild Card Cycling
A racing club out of Champaign and St Louis – they offer lots of formal and informal riding and training opportunities.
Kickapoo Mountain Bike Club
This club builds and maintains the mountain bike trails and organizes mountain bike races at Kickapoo State Park.
